You're an electrician, a plumber, a roofer or a specialist in a regulated trade. Your work is good; what costs you the most is often everything around it: finding the right clients, qualifying requests, travelling to quote on jobs that go nowhere.

Beau-frère à louer has the opposite problem. Our members trust us with their homes, and some of their needs fall outside our scope. We're looking for trusted companies to hand them to. Here's how working together can benefit everyone.

Who is Beau-frère à louer?

Beau-frère à louer looks after its members' homes: small jobs, maintenance, inspections and preventive maintenance plans. Specialized divisions have grown up around the brand: PatchNPaint (wall repair and painting), Cabanon-Remise A9 (shed restoration) and Koomfo (air conditioning and ventilation).

Connect-forces is the network through which you join Beau-frère à louer: as an employee, or as a partner company.

Since 2009, Beau-frère à louer has been taking on the small jobs others pass up.

Why we need you

Our Residential Maintenance Leads inspect our members' homes and build their maintenance plans. These inspections bring specific needs to light: an electrical panel that needs checking, a water heater at the end of its life, a roof that needs redoing.

However, Beau-frère à louer does no electrical or plumbing work, and many jobs require a licence we don't hold. In Quebec, this work is regulated: electrical work falls to contractors who are members of the Corporation des maîtres électriciens du Québec (Master Electricians Act, CQLR c. M-3), plumbing to members of the Corporation des maîtres mécaniciens en tuyauterie du Québec (Master Pipe-Mechanics Act, CQLR c. M-4), and installing locks or security systems requires a licence from the Bureau de la sécurité privée (Private Security Act, CQLR c. S-3.5).

Rather than leaving our members to search on their own, we want to be able to tell them: "Here's a company we know, and they'll do the job right."

What the network brings you

Qualified requests

You receive requests that match your specialty and your area, clearly described: address, nature of the need, photos when we have them, and often the findings of an inspection. Fewer wasted trips, more completed jobs.

Requests in your trade all year round, depending on the season and the area.

Clients who already trust you

A homeowner who welcomes you on behalf of Beau-frère à louer knows they're dealing with a recommended company. The trust is already there before you arrive.

A clear partnership

Together, we put your specialty, your area and how we'll work together in writing. What's agreed is honoured.

We work out the details together, on a first call.

Respect for your trade

We won't ask you to work outside your licence or to slash your prices. We're looking for lasting relationships, not one-off deals.

What we expect from our partners

  • a valid RBQ licence for the work involved (and, depending on the trade, membership in the CMEQ or the CMMTQ, or a Bureau de la sécurité privée licence);
  • an up-to-date CNESST certificate of compliance;
  • a Revenu Québec attestation for any contract of $25,000 or more;
  • civil liability insurance of at least $2 million;
  • keeping the appointments confirmed with the client, cleanliness and good communication;
  • before and after photos of every job.

Trades we're looking for

  • electrical;
  • plumbing;
  • roofing;
  • paving, concrete and masonry;
  • locksmithing and security systems.

We're also looking for: caulking, insulation, excavation and French drains.

How it works

  1. You write to us at partenaires@connect-forces.com : your company, your trade, your area, your licence number.
  2. We get to know each other: a call, then a check of your licences, insurance and references.
  3. We sign a clear agreement: your specialty, your area and how we'll work together.
  4. We send you the matching requests.
  5. We track client satisfaction, so the partnership works for everyone.

One option: Beau-frère à louer group affiliate partner. You join the group as an affiliate partner: you receive requests qualified by our call centre, you use the Beau-frère à louer app, and you show up at the client's door on behalf of a recommended brand. We work out the details together, before you sign anything.

Why now

The network is growing. Beau-frère à louer is hiring new handymen and welcoming its first Residential Maintenance Leads, whose job is precisely to identify, home by home, what needs to be done. The more our inspections multiply, the more we need partners we can count on. Companies that join the network now will be the first we hand these requests to.

Key takeaways

  • Beau-frère à louer does no electrical or plumbing work: those needs, revealed by our inspections, are handed to licensed companies.
  • The network brings you qualified requests, clients who already trust you and terms in writing before the first request.
  • We expect a valid RBQ licence, civil liability insurance and commitments kept.
  • To get started: write to partenaires@connect-forces.com.
